A beautiful village-level Vosne from vines in Les Violettes, Aux Genaivrières and Aux Réas.

Pale ruby with violet rim. Delicately spicy nose. Bottled for only 2 weeks, so a bit shut down at this point. Smooth, soft cherries, raspberries. Soft leather, savoury, sous-bois.

Lots of parcels making up around 2 hectares of vines; Violettes being the largest part but there's also Genevrières; Aux Réas and a small part of Vigneux. A slightly more modest colour. Oak and a more direct shape to these aromas. Fuller in the mouth, much larger in scale. Hard to judge the flavours today as a large contribution comes from the barrel - but the wine's concentration and architecture are excellent. I'd be waiting 3-5 years to drink this to let the oak fade into the background. Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report.
