Peter Maude Fine Wines
2021, Domaine Bruno Clair, MARSANNAY, 'Les Grasses Têtes'
The 2021 Marsannay Les Grasses Têtes has the most powerful bouquet amongst Clair's Marsannays, though the Longeroies has more mineralité and complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly candied entry - desiccated orange peel mixed with allspice, the finish just a little disjointed at the moment. 87-89 Neal Martin, Vinous.
The 2021 Marsannay Les Grasses Têtes is the most muscular, structured of the Clair Marsannays, exhibiting aromas of spices, sweet berries and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate underpinned by plenty of sweet, powdery tannin. 89-91 William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
