2023, Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron, CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY, 1er Cru

$250

From 2 vineyards: Les Feusselottes and Les Châtelots.
A bright lively purple. Refreshing energy on the nose, deep cherries behind the more floral aspect, this fills the mouth generously and will be an exciting Chambolle to drink in the not too distant future. Useful tannins, adequate acidity, but above all a wine full of flamboyant fruit at an ideal ripeness. Drink from 2030-2036.

The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, racked just the day before my visit. The nose reveals well-defined, pretty aromas of black cherry, raspberry coulis and pressed violets that gain momentum as they unfold, seamlessly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine structure, not as sophisticated as the Aux Boudots, but it delivers satisfying concentration on the finish. Give it three or four years in bottle.

Deep ruby. Nose - sous bois, truffles, a little violets, some sweet raspberries.
Very fine, very floral on the palate. Lovely long finish, fine texture. Very good. Super elegant.
