2018, Château Sigalas Rabaud, SAUTERNES, 375ml

$84

The 2018 Sigalas Rabaud is a very pretty, easygoing Sauternes. Lemon confit, hazelnut, dried pear and floral notes are nicely delineated. The 2018 is not terribly complex, but it is nicely balanced and offers plenty of allure. 92 Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2021).

The 2018 Sigalas Rabaud has an impressive bouquet of orange peel, marmalade, quince and apricot scents that burst from the glass. The palate is very well defined with a viscous opening. Marmalade and quince vie for attention, and almond and mango appear toward the well-defined finish. This is very pure and thoroughly enjoyable. 92 Neal Martin, Vinous (2021).

Attractive balance and grip alongside silky texture. White nectarine flesh and clear lime citrus acidity. Successful, as it was en primeur. 96 Jane Anson, Decanter (2020).

Pale lemon-gold coloured, the 2018 Sigalas Rabaud leaps from the glass with vibrant grapefruit, lemon tart and green mango scents with nuances of mandarin peel, lime cordial and chalk dust. The palate is wonderfully vibrant with beautiful tension and a long, subtly layered finish.  92-94 Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate (2019).
