In Chassagne, three parcels with three slightly different top soils.
A broadly floral-suffused nose displays additional notes of poached pear, citrus confit and spiced tea. The rich, delicious and equally voluminous larger-scaled flavours also possess evident power that carries over the firm, serious and compact finale. This also needs to develop more depth but given the quality of the underlying material, that should simply be a matter of patience. 2033+
93 Burghound.
Extra high tones but of course tons of depth too. Extra depth – there’s minerality at the base – again – but it’s less the primary driver of flavour than in Criots. A larger burst of finishing flavour with more finishing citrus skin complexity – that’s a finish of the highest scale – what a simply excellent wine!!
Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report.
Pale gold colour. Beautiful lemon/lime aromas with white flowers. Bigger, more powerful than Criots. Voluptuous and round. Long, spicy finish. More about shape and form than fruit.
