2022, Château Suduiraut, SAUTERNES 1er Cru Classé

Bordeaux Blend: Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc.

The 2022 Suduiraut is laced with hints of tangerine peel, spice, vanillin, chamomile and dried flowers. It offers a lovely mix of botrytis-inflected flavors and textures while also showing quite a bit of freshness. The 2022 is done in the lighter style the château favors these days. My impression is that it is still coming together, as the wine shows a very slight lack of cohesion that is not typical. 92-94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous. 

Gorgeous richness and juiciness, a compelling density and complexity, well constructed and poised. Refined but powerful, I love the intensity, really combines fruit fleshiness and unctuous acidity. Orange rind, but cool and fresh, not so much marmalade more honeyed oranges with lemon, lime, cinnamon, apricot, caramelised pineapple and touch of mango, but staying cool and bright with salty touches giving nuance. Well integrated, balanced - it has a lot of sugar at 194g but it really works! A yield of 7hl/ha. 3.45g total acidity. 4.0pH. 95/100 Georgina Hindle, Decanter.
