Bordeaux Blend: Merlot, Cabernet Franc

4.37ha estate on the north part of the plateau, owned by Hélène Garcin-Lévêque since 1997 - located in the centre-east of the Pomerol appellation, next to Chateau Clinet,

The 2022 Clos L’Eglise is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, which is a bit more Franc than in the past. Crushed red berry fruit, rose petal, flowers, mint and blood orange are all laced together in a vibrant, sumptuous Pomerol that delivers the goods. 94-96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.

Concentrated, quick build up of tannins through the palate, clear complexity and nuance, this is an enjoyable wine with the Pomerol magic of being approachable soon and yet with the sructure to age for decades. Black truffle, cocoa bean, damson, cassis. 93 Jane Anson.

Offering up aromas of sweet cherries, berries, spices and new oak, the 2022 Clos l'Eglise is medium to full-bodied, broad and layered, with a velvety attack that segues into a vibrant, rather structured mid-palate, concluding with youthfully firm tannins. Incorporating fully 30% Cabernet Franc this year, this is a strong effort. 91-93 William Kelley, Wine Advocate.

Drinking Window: 2028 - 2042
