Peter Maude Fine Wines

2021, Domaine Arnaud Baillot, BOURGOGNE Chardonnay

100% Chardonnay grapes that come essentially from Meursault, Volnay and Pommard. Sustainable Agriculture. Manual harvesting with grape sorting through parcel-by-parcel ripeness monitoring. Traditional fermentation of 15 days in stainless steel tank. 10% new oak.

Clear pale gold. Ripe cool fruit. Good definition mid palate. Crisp and bright. Citrus/Lemon-curd. Pretty good - stylish Bourg Blanc. *** James Kirkwood 26/5/23.

Light golden colour. Sweet soft aromas of white flowers, lychee and a touch of tropical fruit. Dry mid palate with a fresh crisp finish. Clean, Crisp, fresh and refined. Jo Charvill 26/5/23.

Rich and fine, round texture. Very long, honeyed with tropical tones. Peter Maude. 26/5/23.

Natural fermentation methods employed. 20% wine 12 months in new oak (Arnaud is not a “huge fan of oakiness”) Pale gold in colour. Really nice nose of baked apple and peach with lime zest. Mineral with clean dry finish. Very easy to drink. Nice and quaffable. Katharine Maude (at the domaine 07/10/2022).
