2021, Maison Jean-Claude Boisset, BOURGOGNE Blanc, 'Les Ursulines'

$42

A pleasant attack of apple, lime and talc on the nose. Noticeably more weight than expected with great persistence and some tension on the back palate that is zesty, precise and mineral. 92/100 Stephen Brook, Decanter.

Recent bottling?s of the Ursulines blanc have been getting quite plump due to the warmer vintages but the 2021 is stylistically right back to the earlier lighter and more refreshing style (which I preferred). Citrus notes and white peach dominate. Lighter as well mid-palate, but it?s a clean, lemony and versatile white with tingly acidity and a crisp fresh, juicy finish. ***1/2 James Kirkwood, 10/03/2023.
