A blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.

A delicious, measured and carefully structured wine, builds slowly through the palate, has typicity of Tuscan Sangiovese in its generosity, held in where it needs to be, and bursting with juicy red fruits, dark spices, turmeric, clove, tobacco, tar. Savoury and yet generous, with mouthwatering juiciness on the finish. Located in Castellina in Chianti, winemaker Gionata Puglignani, owned by the Mazzei family. Ageing in small French oak barrels for the Cabernet Sauvignon, larger sized for the Sangiovese, 70% new, plus three months in concrete tanks before release. Punchy, red-toned fruit, blood orange, cedar and spice all come together effortlessly, with plush, silky tannins that wrap it all together.
