Mid purple, fresh and silky bouquet. Just a little more discreet than either Cazetiers or Clos St-Jacques. This is quite a cerebral wine. All is there, especially further back on the palate along with some refined tannins. Quite nuanced, still discreet but long and fine, not hedonistic. **** 95-98 Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.
Here too a discreet touch of wood is perceptible on the ripe aromas of pretty, even perfumed red berries that are mixed with pretty floral and spice wisps. The mouthfeel of the succulent, round and highly seductive large-bodied flavours is quite sleek as the supporting tannins are dense but fine on the lingering finish that exhibits excellent power and drive. This is very much built to repay extended keeping though it should be worth the wait. In short, this is potentially brilliant. 93-96 Burghound.
Aromas of cherries, red berries and plums mingle with rose petals, spices and bergamot to introduce the 2022 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy wine that's supple, suave and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, lively acids and sweet, melting tannins. 94-96 William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
