This lovely wine boasts aromas of ripe apricot and quince fruit with a suggestion of honeycomb and hay. The palate demonstrates power and depth of flavour, and the wine continues to impress with abundant extract, balanced acidity, and a wonderfully balanced finish. The grapes come from three plots that total 0.38 hectares; they are slowly pressed as whole clusters, settled overnight, fermented in cask (one-third new), and aged over two winters. 94 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter.

The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from three plots. It takes time to unfurl on the nose, eventually offering citrus fruit, popcorn and hints of Mirabelle. The palate is balanced with an attractive, slightly waxy texture. It shows fine depth with the mineralité eventually surfacing with aeration. Afford this three or four years in bottle. 92-94 Neal Martin, Vinous.

Fine mid yellow. A more four-square delivery on the nose, still with a good oak content. A concentration of white fruit with citrus notes, certainly more power than the Bienvenues-Bâtard, perhaps less finesse, and does not dig as deep as some – but persistent, and a fine example. Drink from 2028-2035. *** 92-95 Jasper Morris MW.
