2020, Maison Benjamin Leroux, MEURSAULT 1er Cru "La Pièce sous le Bois"

Pale lemon colour. This year’s Meursault-Blagny has a most sublime nose, very precise, not exuberant but with a sense of poise that is most appealing. Really concentrated at the back of the palate with a perfect acid balance. Crisp pure fresh apple finish yet perfectly ripe.  ***** (5 stars) 92-95/100, Jasper Morris MW.

The 2020 Meursault-Blagny La Pièce Sous Le Bois 1er Cru has a very zesty bouquet with Clementine and passion fruit, palpable energy here. The palate is well balanced with a slightly waxy opening, good depth and fine acidity, leading to a concentrated finish. Excellent. 92-94/100, Neal Martin.

Lemony and bright, with pleasant mineral notes from the thin, rocky limestone soils. The wine has plenty of structure, and there is richness countered by freshness. A dynamic and delicious wine. Leroux farms 1.65ha in Blagny for white wine. 94/100, Charles Curtis MW, Decanter.
