This is a little tight on the opening, bright fruit running underneath but clear austerity to the tannins, and touches of tobacco leaf and redcurrant fruits that feel a little strained. Enjoyable coffee smoke as it opens, and there is delicacy. First year of conversion to organic farming. Harvest September 14 to October 1.

This 16 hectare property in the South of Saint Emilion is owned by the Vauthier family of Ausone. Wine-making is 30% in barrel and 70% in stainless steel.
