2019, Maison Benjamin Leroux, MEURSAULT 1er Cru "La Pièce sous le Bois"

The 2019 Meursault Le Pièce Sous Bois 1er Cru, matured in 300- and 600-liter barrels, has a crisp, detailed bouquet of almond and walnut flanked by touches of praline and nutmeg; quite complex and engaging. The palate is medium-bodied with tangerine and nectarine on the entry, a fine bead of acidity and quite a rich but balanced finish. This will be difficult to resist in its youth. 88-90/100 Neal Martin.

Lively green reflections in the lemon yellow. Quite a powerful bouquet and showing the oak a bit at the moment: it has not yet been racked out of its 300 litre barrels. Very fleshy as well, leading to a lovely luscious and gracious finish with some, buttery notes. 91-94/100 Jasper Morris, MW.
