2019, Domaine Ponsot, CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE Grand Cru

A subtle application of wood sets off cool and pure aromas of citrus peel, apple, white flower and just sliced fennel. There is both excellent volume and tension to the attractively textured medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a balanced, lengthy and very dry finale. 91-93, Burghound.

The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is broad and textural, offering up aromas of honeyed orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, buttery pastry and white flowers, followed by a full-bodied, layered and enveloping palate that's lively and penetrating, concluding with a saline finish. Drinking Window 2023-2045. 93/100, William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
