2019, Domaine Marquis d'Angerville, MEURSAULT 1er cru "Santenots"

The Marquis d'Angerville's fresh take on Meursault that has a brilliant Chablis-like mineral intensity. The vineyard is right up close to Volnay on the Caillerets side.

Fine richness to the appealing textured and vibrant flavours that also conclude in a clean, refreshingly dry and very lemony finale. This is sufficiently forward that it could be enjoyed on the younger side, yet it should also be capable of rewarding several years of cellaring as well.
89-91 Burghound.

From the Plures sector which is where most of the white Santenots can be found. Pale lemon and lime in colour, a reductive quality to the nose, a nicely balanced multi-layered wine, some floral notes emerging and a soft, correctly oaked finish. Enough acidity to bring it into balance at the finish.
*** 90-92 Jasper Morris MW.

Aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, citrus zest and fresh peach, framed by a light touch of youthful reduction, introduce d'Angerville's 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Santenots, a medium to full-bodied, tightly wound wine.
89-91 William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
