2019, Domaine Brusset, CAIRANNE, 'Vieilles Vignes'

A 60-40 blend of Grenache (aged in tank) and Syrah (aged in demi-muids), the 2019 Cairanne Vieilles Vignes is another standout vintage of this wine (longtime followers of this domaine will know that this bottling has replaced the Les Chabriles). It offers a bold, lusty mouthful of dark-berried fruit, hints of licorice and garrigue on the nose and ample concentration and length on the finish. Supple tannins and a softly dusty finish suggest at least 5-6 years of longevity, although it certainly is drinkable already. 93/100 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate.
