Peter Maude Fine Wines

2019, Domaine Bruno Clair, MARSANNAY "Les Grasses Têtes"

Attractive mid red purple, plenty of energy, some mandarin notes, an attractive sweetness of fruit, quite floral, long and satisfying. This wine can be a little bit foursquare, but a program of fewer punch downs and more whole bunches has paid off.
**** 89-91 Jasper Morris MW

The nose is exceptionally fresh and bright with its very floral-infused nose of mostly red berries and earth. There is terrific intensity to the relatively big-bodied and markedly firm flavours that culminate in a more structured, more complex and longer finish. This is also well-made and should reward up to a decade of cellaring.
90-92 Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

Medium-bodied with candied red fruit mixed with cassis and touches of vanilla towards the finish. Something joyful about this cuvée this year.
89-91 Neal Martin, Vinous.
