Peter Maude Fine Wines

2019, Domaine Bruno Clair, CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY "Les Charmes"

This is a new cuvée, a fermage (lease) on 0.69ha close to Les Amoureuses. Excellent purple, full of energy, has been racked for reductive reasons, a huge starburst of ripe rasp and strawberry fruit, fine tannins, keeps driving on well afterwards. A very good example.
**** 93-95 Jasper Morris MW

Firm reduction also dominates the fruit at present. The rich and more voluminous flavours possess both good volume and a more subtle mineral streak on the even more attractively textured medium-bodied flavours that are quite finely detailed on the youthfully austere, focused and somewhat linear finish. This is pretty but it's fairly tightly wound at present so some patience will be required to allow the finish to flesh out.
90-92 Burghound.

Just been racked and so the aromatics are difficult to read, however the palate is well balanced with crunchy black fruit laced with graphite, quite precise with fine salinity on the finish. Great potential.
91-93 Neal Martin.
