The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Symphonie is a blend taken from 23 tiny parcels, on a scale that is only found in Burgundy. An intensely floral bouquet melds into a dark cherry, spice, leather and tobacco in a supple, easygoing village-level Burgundy that will drink well right out of the gate. 88-90 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
A layered and distinctly earthy nose features mostly aromas of red berry fruit. There is both good vibrancy and a lovely texture to the medium weight flavours that retain a lovely sense of delineation while delivering fine depth and persistence. Good stuff. 88-91 Allen Meadows, Burghound.
