It's perhaps a little more advanced than I was expecting but still pleasurable. The palate is medium-bodied and fresher than the aromatics suggest, with fine-boned tannins. Silky smooth in texture, savoury red fruit hints are interlaced with cumin and gamey notes. It gently fans out on the finish, completing a delicious Pomerol. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index. 93 Neal Martin, Vinous (2025)

The 2015 Latour à Pomerol is fabulous. Super-ripe red cherry, mint, crushed herbs, liquorice and tobacco are all woven together in a fabric of pure and total class as this powerful, explosive Pomerol shows off its arresting beauty. As gorgeous as the 2015 is today, it also is going to need at least a number of years in bottle to be at its very best. The fusion of power and sensuality makes for a compelling Pomerol that is going to drink well for several decades. The 2015 has much to say, all it needs is time. 95+ Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2017)

A blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, the medium to deep garnet-purple coloured 2015 Latour à Pomerol has an earthy/meaty nose of chargrilled meats, fertile loam, fungi and beef drippings over a core of blackberry preserves, cassis and pencil shavings plus a touch of tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers tons of savoury layers with a firm, chewy structure and a lively line cutting through the tightly wound flavours, finishing long and earthy. 93+ Lisa perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate (2018)

This opens up with beautiful crystalline red fruit and a touch of rose. Perhaps uncharacteristically this is very delicate. The palate is light of foot, elegant and loaded with exotic spices. There is a beautiful balance here, incredibly fine tannin leading into a wonderful finish, which is not as concentrated as expected. Very good and such great value. 95 Gareth Birchley, Decanter (2025)

Drinking Window: 2025 - 2042

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0515/1889/8336/files/peter-maude-fine-wines-france-new-zealand-right-bank-chateau-latour-a-pomerol_3cb2a47d-25ba-458e-8466-734355b937e5.jpg?v=1778031715
