Domaine Laurent Tribut
Domaine Laurent Tribut was founded after Laurent married Rene's Dauvissat daughter, Marie-Clotilde. The 5.2 hectares of vineyard adjoins the Dauvissat premier cru vineyards and with the leasing of further plots the total vine area farmed by Laurent is 7.8 hectares.
There is a strong winemaking connection between Tribut and Dauvissat with the domaines sharing pickers and until recently the cellar - Laurent now makes the wine in his own cellar in the village of Poinchy just outside Chablis. The wines he makes are very special - they have a purity and elegance that suggests they are somewhat underpriced for the quality on offer. Made very much in the Dauvissat style.
Laurent's daughter Solange now manages a section of the Chablis vineyard and bottles her own Chablis in a slightly less minerally style. Laurent practises very careful vineyard management and the wines are made in the traditional Dauvissat style. All the grapes are hand-harvested with fermentation in cuves, the wines lightly oaked and only lightly filtered at bottling.
