Domaine de la Vougeraie

Following the aquisition of several estates during the nineties, the Boisset family decided to bring them all together and selected the very best plots to form one entity named Domaine de la Vougeraie which was founded in 1999. The concept was to create a single banner that represented the philosophy of excellence.

Pascal Marchand was enticed to leave the Comte Armand's Clos des Epeneaux to take charge of this new venture which was based in the old, original Boisset plot at Domaine Pierre Ponelle in Nuits-St-Georges. In 2006 Marchand handed the reins to Pierre Vincent who had been running another Boisset business, Domaine Jaffelin.

Today Vougeraie is a very large domain with vineyard holdings of over 34 hectares. Thirty crus are vinified including three monopoles, six grand crus,  seven premier crus and 11 villages. Vougeraie is gaining in reputation and Pierre Vincent is highly regarded and has been impressing the critics. The Burghound has stated that the 2010s and 2011s of Vougeraie outperformed the quality of their respective vintages. The wines are superb through the whole range.
