The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh opening, well balanced with fine tannins, although again, the stems seem to do all the talking at the moment. Is there the fruit concentration\/density to fully subsume the stalks with bottle age? \u003cstrong\u003e92-94 Neal Martin, Vinous (2024).\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRich mid purple. The nose starts quietly but then does take on the majesty of the appellation. Is there a green streak in the middle? This could be the effect of 100% stems which will end up complexifying this wine, which is very backward at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied, tightly wound and linear, with a sense of symmetry on the entry. But of all the Musigny tasted from barrel in 2023, this has perhaps the most nascent freshness, tension and complexity on the finish. Medium to full-bodied, cool and layered, with a rich core of fruit framed by ultra-refined tannins, it's suave and harmonious, with a long, fragrant finish. This accomplished Musigny only confirms that \u003cstrong\u003ede Vogüé is performing on a high level\u003c\/strong\u003e today.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e95-96\u003c\/strong\u003e William Kelley.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA more restrained if just as pretty and equally perfumed nose displays a similar array of red and dark cherry, exotic jasmine tea and dried orange peel along with a hint of sandalwood. On the palate the broad-shouldered and even more concentrated flavours manage the trick of being more powerful but also more refined with an almost aggressive minerality that seems to build in intensity on the compact, youthfully austere and massively long finale. This is however exceptionally firm and is very much a 'buy and forget you own it' wine.
