The 2021 G d'Estournel is racy and expressive in the glass. Pretty floral and savoury accents run through a core of dark Merlot fruit. This mid-weight, gracious Haut-Médoc is all charm. The 2021 is impeccably balanced from start to finish. Delicious. 90-92 Antonio Galloni.
Rose-touched sweet red berry fruit. Subtle and quite deep. This is more rich than overtly fresh and acidic. Unfussy, with concentrated blackcurrants and black cherries. Succulent, then crisp salinity coming through at the end, plus Cabernet markers of eucalyptus, mint and green peppercorns. Calm and gentle with rich, high-toned fruit. 25% new oak. 89 Georgina Hindle, Decanter.
Aromas of rich berry fruit, plums, violets and orange rind introduce the 2021 Goulée by Cos d'Estournel, a medium to full-bodied wine with good depth at the core, ripe tannins and lively acids. This well-made effort should develop very nicely with further maturation barrel. 88-90 William Kelley.
